There are two main options for dental crowns: porcelain fused to metal and zirconia-based porcelain.
Metal-supported porcelain crowns are prepared by applying porcelain over a metal substructure to increase durability. During treatment, impressions are taken, the metal substructure is created according to the measurements, and adjustments are made at the try-in stage. After final checks, the crowns are fixed onto the natural teeth.
Zirconia-based porcelain crowns stand out due to high biocompatibility and excellent aesthetics. Zirconia offers strong gum compatibility and does not cause gum darkening or discoloration. It is also resistant to cracking and fractures. Because its light transmission is close to natural teeth, it provides highly successful aesthetic results and can be used safely for many years.
